Filing a backflow test report to the City of North Vancouver

Where it goes

The certificate is “forwarded to the Engineer”. The form prints no address.

The City of North Vancouver publishes no form, no cross connection control page and no intake address. The duty to file exists; the destination does not. If you have been told where to send it, we would like to know — see below.

How often, and by when

Annually, in July. Not stated in the bylaw — confirm with the authority. We would rather tell you we did not find one than invent a number you might plan around.

Whatever the deadline, the report only stands if your test kit was in calibration on the day. Most programmes require it every twelve months, and a lapsed kit does not slow you down — it stops you filing at all. We will email you before yours lapses, free.

Worth knowing

The due date is a FIXED CALENDAR MONTH, not an anniversary. A device tested in March is still due the following July, not the following March. Two traps on the form itself: the only email address printed on it is FOIPrivacy@cnv.org, which is the privacy contact and NOT the intake; and the bylaw text bundled with it says failure to forward the certificate “can result in penalties as specified in Section 9”.
